Shopping to Slim Your Waist and Wallet: Feb 3 Sales Ad

This week we are going to whittle our waist and wallet with some serious taste. Based on this week’s Market Street sales ad, you can eat and Live Well for about $4 a day. Check out the good-for-you menu we put together just from the ad.


Breakfast
1 cup General Mills Cheerio’s
1 cup Red River Farms Skim Milk

Lunch
2 slices Market Street’s Good n Grainy Artisan Bread
4 oz Plantation Peppered Turkey (that’s about ¼ of your 1lb purchase)
1 oz Plantation Colby Cheese (that’s about 1 thin slice of your 1 lb FREE cheese with turkey purchase)
1 cup Grab n Go Grape Tomatoes
¼ small Hass Avocado

Snack
1/3 bag Seapoint Edamame

Dinner
1 cup cooked Eat Smart Fresh Cut Vegetables

15 Nabisco Wheat Thins Reduced Fat
Crush the Wheat Thins and add a pepper to taste (I also like to add a tablespoon of parmesan cheese). Moisten the chicken breast with water or milk or egg white and roll in Wheat Thins. Heat a small amount of canola oil in a skillet over medium heat on the stove. Brown both sides and cook until chicken is no longer pink in the middle.

Total cost for all ingredients: $19.51
Total cost for the amount eaten in one day: $4.11
