Shopping to Slim Your Waist and Wallet - Feb 17 Sales Ad

We are slimming our Waist and Wallet this week with some meatless meals. We know that cutting back on red meats and occasionally eating meatless meals is good for our hearts and can be good for our waist lines. Using this week's ad, here is a day's menu of food for you to Live Well (and on a budget)!


Breakfast: Egg Sandwich

1 Oroweat Sandwich Thin

1 Egg (prepared to your liking)

1 cup Sweet Chilean Red Seedless Grapes




Lunch: Buffalo Salad

2 cups Dole Fresh Spinach (from bag)

1/2 Hot House Beefsteak Tomato

1/4 Fresh Broccoli Crown

3.5 oz Gardein Meatless Buffalo Wings (about 1/2 the package) Oil and vinegar (or other dressing to taste - be careful of the extra calories)



Snack:

1 Fresh Crisp Cameo Apples

1 container Greek Gods Yogurt - low or non-fat



Dinner: "Chicken Marinara" with Pasta and Salad

1/2 cup cooked World Classics Fresh Pasta (FREE with your direct mailer coupon)

1 Gardein Meatless Marinara Chick'n Good Stuff

2 cups Dole Fresh Spinach (from bag)

1/2 Hot House Beefsteak Tomato

1/4 Fresh Broccoli Crown


Total Cost for all items: $14.49 (oil, vinegar and 1 egg are not included in total)

Total Cost for items eaten in one day: $5.81 (you can't eat out one meal on that!)
