Tuesday Trade Up: Popcorn

Microwave popcorn is such an easy snack. It's portable, all you need is a microwave and you can have quite a bit for not so many calories. However, there is a large range of NuVal scores in the popcorn department. Plain, fresh corn receives a NuVal score of 93 and plain, unflavored popcorn kernels receive a NuVal score of 91 but there are a few flavored popcorns that have so many ingredients added to them that their score drops to a 1!!

Remember with NuVal, it's all about Trading Up to products you use and like. This week our Trade Up shows how you can make a better choice by just reducing some of the saturated fat. Note: most light, reduced fat or fat free popcorns receive NuVal scores in the 20's and most regular popcorns receive scores in the teens or below.
