What's New: Roasted Pumpkin Seeds

Roasting pumpkin seeds is a great way to use the seeds from all the Jack O Lanterns that you see everywhere this time of year. Last week I (Robin) made pumpkin butter from a small pie pumpkin and I roasted the seeds. These pumpkins do not provide as many seeds as the larger ones….so, be sure to adjust this recipe if you have more seeds. I served these as a quick snack for some guests and they were gone in no time. They had good flavor and I love the smell of the seeds roasting. These will be a great snack for your family. There a many ways you can flavor pumpkin seeds before roasting. If you prefer something sweet, try using cinnamon and nutmeg and a little sugar. Also, if you prefer your seeds to be darker in color, just keep them in the oven a little longer or until they reach the desired color you prefer. Any way you serve them up…..your family will love the end result.

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds
Ingredients:
1 cup raw whole pumpkin seeds
½ tsp Worcestershire Sauce
¼ tsp of salt
½ tsp of garlic salt
2 tsp of Olive Oil
Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees

2. Combine all ingredients and mix in a shallow baking dish




3. Bake for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
