Dietitian's Top Pick: Wyman Wild Blueberries

One of my favorite parts of our diabetes grocery tour at Market Street is in the produce department. A recent study found that people who ate an apple 5x a week and 1 cup of blueberries 2x a week had butter blood sugar levels than those who did not eat any fruit. How empowering is that? Just 6 servings of fruit a week helped people manage their blood sugar better.

Blueberries are easy to love. They taste amazing and are so versatile. Sometimes it can be hard to fit blueberries into your weekly food budget, which is why this week our Dietitian's Top Pick is Wyman's Wild Blueberries. Both the canned and frozen versions have a NuVal score of 100 (the same as fresh blueberries) but allow you to keep them on the shelf or in the freezer at a lower cost.

Wyman's has some great ideas for ways to sneak those 2 servings of blueberries into your diet. Sure you could add them to cereal, smoothies and pancakes but what about for dinner. Check out the recipes photos below for Raspberry Ginger Glazed Salmon and Tandoori Chicken With Wild Blueberry Fig Sauce.
