Trade Up Tuesday: Biscuit Mix

A couple of Saturdays ago I wanted to make homemade biscuits. It probably isn't the healthiest thing I could make but I just had this craving. And as much as my dietitian heart wanted to make whole wheat biscuits, my stomach and mouth won the vote. So off to Market Street I went to get all the ingredients.

Now, I preach "Trade Up" all the time but I guess it never occured to me that you could trade up a baking mix. Who would have thought that the Gluten Free Baking Mix would have such a higher NuVal score than the Traditional Baking Mix? It just goes to show you, there's a trade up everywhere you look. Let's take a closer peak at what makes these two so different:

Pioneer Brand Original Biscuit and Baking Mix (NuVal score 2)

  1. Thanks for the tip... We have switched to a simi-paleo diet. Trying to be as gluten free as we can. I'll be picking up some of this! Can't wait to see how the "gut" likes it!

  2. Hey Meg, be sure to let us know how you like it. And thanks for leaving a comment!!
