Trade Up Tuesday: Chips (for Labor Day)

Who's counting down to Labor Day? Only 3 more days until the 3 day weekend. While you are doing your shopping this week or weekend be sure to use the NuVal scoring system available at every Market Street. NuVal is a summary score of the nutrition and ingredients in a product. This score is printed on the price tag so you can see at a glance the nutrition of your favorite products. Higher scores mean better nutrition.

So in our Trade Up Tuesday example today, we show that you can still enjoy chips but you also can make a huge improvement in the nutrition of your food by Trading Up from Mission Tortilla Rounds to Beanitos Pinto Bean and Flax Chips (which by the way are a great option for those watching blood sugar because of all the protein and fiber in this chips).

Beanitos gets a higher NuVal score because they contain less saturated fat, 1/3 of the sodium, 5x the fiber, 2x the protein and 3x the iron than the Mission Tortilla Rounds. Even if bean chips aren't up your alley, there are plenty of chips in our store for you to make a Trade Up for your Labor Day festivities.
