Apple Crisp Recipe (Gluten Free and Reduced Sugar)

I (Robin) can’t wait until Thanksgiving next week.  I’m responsible for bringing dessert this year.  That is not an easy task at my family gathering because my Dad has Diabetes and my sister and I have Celiac and my mom can be very picky about dessert.  So, I came up with a Gluten free and reduced sugar apple crisp.  My mom loves anything apple and so do I.  I can’t wait for them to try this super easy dessert!  I may have to make this year round.  You can use any apple for this dish—I used Granny Smith apples.  You can also use any gluten free baking mix.

Ingredients
4 cups sliced apples
1 ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (plus a little extra to sprinkle on top)
½ cup water
½ cup Truvia baking blend
½ cup butter
¾ cup Pamela’s bread mix

Ingredients: apples, cinnamon, water, Truvia, butter and gluten free baking mix.

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease 8x8 baking dish
2. Place apples in prepared dish.  Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.  Pour water over apple mixture.
3. In a bowl, cream together Truvia and butter.  Add ½ teaspoon of cinnamon.  Blend in gluten free baking mix.  Sprinkle mixture evenly over apples
4. Bake in preheated oven 50-60 minutes, until apples are tender and crust is golden.

Place apples in dish. Combine gluten free baking mix, cinnamon,
Truvia and butter and sprinkle over apple mixture.

Bake in preheated oven 50-60 minutes, until apples are tender and crust is golden.
