Trade Up Tuesday: Spaghetti Dinner






Everybody loves spaghetti so let’s trade up the entire dish. Here are two changes you could make to improve the nutritional quality of the meal. Trade-up from Barilla Spaghetti Pasta to Barilla Whole Grain Spaghetti Pasta. Instead of using the Bertolli Marinara Sauce, try the Bertolli Tomato & Basil Sauce. You could also add lean turkey meatballs and some mixed vegetables to make it a more complete meal. The next time you make spaghetti, try trading up the ingredients. The higher scoring meal only cost 5 cents more so it shows that it doesn’t hurt the budget when trading up either!

SUMMARY: Barilla Whole Grain Spaghetti contains the same amount of calories, but has less total carbohydrates and three times as much fiber per serving! The Bertolli Tomato & Basil Sauce contains less calories, more fiber, less sugar, and more calcium than the Bertolli Marinara Sauce.
