Seeing Stars

I am so excited it’s time to celebrate Independence Day once again! July 4th is one of my favorite holidays!  While I very much cherish our American Flag, I also cherish the abundance of refreshing fresh fruit!  Here’s a recipe to help bring some of those stars to your table.  It includes watermelons, strawberries, and blueberries.  Did you know that one watermelon can feed 3 dozen people?  How about the fact that 8 medium strawberries can provide 140% of your daily Vitamin C needs?  Blueberries are native to North America and some Native Americans even referred to them as “star berries” because of the blossom end of each berry forming a perfect five-pointed star.  Now you have a few more reasons to see some of these “stars” on your plate!  Happy Independence Day!

Gather your ingredients:

For variety, you can also use some yellow watermelon, which are known for their extremely sweet taste, which some people say is a bit like honey!  Yum!
 Arrange on platter and serve!
